The illustrious kidpasta strikes again! Ryan “kidpasta” Varner is a longtime Skate Warehouse employee, in-house artist, creative wizard and all around great guy. For the past couple of months, he’s been chipping away at an epic mural in the Customer Service office. It was just finished last week and we’re stoked to showcase it on the blog. This freakin’ painting is incredibly cool.
For the month of August, our good friends over at Tigerlily Salon offered to host Skate Warehouse as their featured artist for Art After Dark. Not too many people know of the talents of our employees outside of skateboarding, and this was a great opportunity to showcase them. Check out the pics. Big thanks to everyone involved!
It’s no surprise the Star Wars x Vans collab is huge. Skate Warehouse is excited about the shoes we’ve got heading our way. And the Santa Cruz Star Wars collection was killer. Vans and Santa Cruz Skateboards are now part of the “Deathstar Blues” exhibit at Denver’s Black Book Gallery this June. Several artists are involved but Derek Keenan’s AT-AT sculpture really stands out. Read the full article for more info.

Over the weekend Russ Pope released his new zine, Life Lines alongside a bunch of his work at the Needles and Pens Gallery in SF. Some friends and I decided it was worth the four hour drive out of sleepy SLO, especially since it was a limited release of only 50 zines. Read more to see pics from the event and hear what I thought.
