Magenta Skateboards is an independent, skateboarder owned and run company established in Paris in 2010 by Soy Panday and Vivien and Jean Feil. Every person involved in the company is a skateboarder. There is no middle-man or business-person involved from outside of skateboarding and we’re lucky to have them here at the shop. Soy does all the brand’s graphics, from logos to boards to ads and more. Vivien does all the business. Jean handles all shipping and shoots photos. That’s 100% skateboarding.
The team began with Leo Valls in 2010 and was furthered by Florida’s favorite son Jimmy Lannon and filmer Yoan Taillandier. For the record, Yoan is a genius videographer. In 2012 Magenta expanded to include Zach Lyons, of Washington DC fame and Koichiro Uehara from Osaka, Japan. And in 2013, SF downhill jedi master Ben Gore joined their ranks. These guys are shredders, fun to watch and really get you amped up. Great team.
If this Magenta Skateboards video doesn’t make you want to go skate, your mind is broken. Watch Leo Valls and Ben Gore turn San Francisco’s classic Sunset District curb cuts into what you wish you were doing right now…
