I was saddened to hear about the passing of Matt Reason earlier this week. For those of you who don’t know, Matt Reason was an undeniably talented skater in the mid 90’s who—along with Ricky Oyola—changed the perception of East Coast skateboarding and coverage. For the SW replay, I chose Matt’s Pro Files part from 411VM issue 12. Take note of the spots. It’s raw street skating at it’s finest. I hope anybody who watches this becomes inspired to pick up their board and explore their surroundings! RIP Matt Reason.
This week’s Crispy New New is a bit more gooey than your average. With such a sick setup, Suzanne is gonna be slashin’ and thrashin’ in style. We’ve got a Creature Deck, Thunder Trucks, OJ Wheels, Diamond bearings, Mini Logo hardware and Skate Warehouse grip in full purple and green glory. Fiends, creeps, heshers, goons; lurk with us!
If you haven’t checked out DGK‘s Blood Money over at Thrasher… you’re fuckin’ up. One of the best releases of 2014 featuring new DGK pro’s Marquise Henry and Boo Johnson. In honor of the video and their recent recruitment into the pro-ranks, Boo and Quise each got signature “Blood Money” models. Samuel from Colorado did his up proper with the Johnson deck, Thunder Trucks, Bones Wheels and Bearings, gripped up with that yung Grizzly Grip and held together with some hater-proof bolts from Shake Junt. Welcome to Crispy New New!
This weeks Crispy New New belongs to Cameron from South Carolina and this setup definitely gets our stamp of approval. Riding on the new Thunder 149’s and a deck from Primitive Skateboarding, all topped off with Ricta wheels, Bones bearings, Shake Junt hardware and Graphic Mob from Lowcard, homie is gonna be riding in style!
