Kevin Baekkel
Kevin Baekkel, hailing from Hamar, Norway, discovered skating at nine after watching older kids skate his local concrete park. Inspired by the raw style of fellow Norwegian skater Christian Brox, he ditched BMX for skateboarding and never looked back. Skating was all Baekkel did, logging 10 hour sessions despite Norway's brutal winters. His mother, Eva, an extreme sports enthusiast, fueled his passion, hiring skaters as babysitters for competition trips instead of family vacations. At 13, Baekkel linked with Creature Skateboards during a demo in his home town, later turning pro with signature boards blending black metal and Viking themes that properly rep his style. His fearless and charging approach to skating cemented his status as Norway's gnarliest.
Now based in Oslo, Baekkel rides for Creature, Independent, Spitfire, Bronson, Mob, Monster, and Beyond Medals. His video parts, like "Higher Power" (2019), "Gangreen," "You Can't Win" (2023), "Down Straight Up" (2025), and "BAD TRIP," highlight his high-speed, rail-heavy style. A global traveler, and connoisseur of terrifying rails, he's known to spend countless hours scoping Google maps for new spots and untapped handrails for his next death defying clips.
