Rick Howard

Rick Howard turned pro for Blockhead skateboards in 1989. After a full length part in Blockhead's video, the industry took notice. Rick quickly secured a spot on the original Plan B team. His parts in Plan B's videos further showed the world his effortless style and technical talent. In 1993, with the help of Spike Jonze, Mike Carroll, and Megan Baltimore, Rick went on to start Girl Skateboards. Rick was also sponsored by DC shoes in the 90s and was part of their famous "Super Team" which included Rob Dyrdek, Danny Way, Mike Carroll, Josh Kalis, and many others. In 1999, Rick and Mike also founded Lakai Footwear. Rick has partnered on other brands Chocolate, Fourstar Clothing, along with starting Crailtap Distribution. These brands went on to produce some of the most memorable videos in skateboard history; Mouse, Yeah Right, Fully Flared, and Pretty Sweet are just a few that influenced generations of skaters. Rick is known for always having the skater's best interest in mind. His generosity and understanding has him being referred to as a skater's skater. In 2023, Rick Howard was inducted into Skateboarding's Hall of Fame.
