Tony Hawk

Tony Hawk is widely regarded as one of the most influencial and popular skateboarders of all time. After turning pro at the ripe age of 14, Hawk, also known as "Birdman" dominated skateboarding's early contest circuits. Credited with inventing dozens of tricks still in practice today, Hawk was catipulted into superstardom after landing the "900" in 1999 during the X-Games. Soon after, a successful video game series solidified him as a household name. Hawk has also owned Birdhouse Skateboards since 1992, at one time sponsoring Andrew Reynolds. Tony retired from competing professionally in 2003, however, his impact and presence in skateboarding hasn't slowed. Through "The Skatepark Project" Tony has helped build over 600 skateparks in underserved communities all over the world. Tony's son, Riley Hawk, is also a professional skateboarder for Baker Skateboards.
